Helping You Keep Your Natural Smile

When an infection reaches the inner layer of your tooth – the pulp – the most common indicator of a problem is pain. Much more intense than a standard toothache, the discomfort you experience can only be remedied with the help of root canal therapy. At Precision Dental Care, our team of experts can eliminate pain by removing the pulp. This not only allows for better oral health but also ensures you keep your natural tooth instead of losing it to extraction. Call us today to find out if a root canal might be what you need.

What Happens During a Root Canal?

A root canal requires that you first receive local anesthesia to effectively numb your mouth. Once we believe you are good to go, we’ll isolate the tooth with a dental dam before creating a small hole in the crown. Using specialized dental instruments, we’ll carefully access the inner layers of your tooth, clearing out any diseased areas found within the chambers and canals.

After removing the infected pulp, we’ll sanitize the tooth before applying a biocompatible substance known as gutta-percha. We’ll then seal off the tooth from future reinfection. After a few weeks, you will return to our office to receive your finalized dental crown for added protection.
